Sort of...It is our policy to provide those who cannot attend a coupon code for 50% off of the proceeding year's event. Requests received less than a week out of race day will not be eligible for deferral. Review our policies HERE
Race location is 181 Mabel St., Cotter, AR 72626, the address for Cotter Schools. You'll see plenty of signage to pull you right into packet pickup and our base of operations.
Because we strive to provide a high quality event, on-site registration may only be available on the Friday evening proceeding the event during packet pickup If the event has sold out prior to this date, on-site registration will NOT be available. Regardless of registration numbers, we will NOT have race-day registration available.
Yes. Because we strive to deliver a quality event, we limit the total number of participants to 750. This keeps the course less congested and allows us to provide better services to our runners. The 5K event is the only event that we segregate with its own limit, which is set at 160 participants.
If the event has not sold out, online registration will close at 11:59 pm Nov. 23, 2024.

Yes, packet pick up on Saturday will be from 5:00 - 6:40 a.m.

Yes. The time limit is 7 hours. Runners still on the course at 2:00 pm will be picked up.
We're not the most spectator friendly course, however spectators can utilize the shuttle vans to go from the school to the finish.
Nope! 2024 will be our 21st year.
We expect to have a 750 runner sell out!
Strollers are only permitted for those doing the 5K. Because this is not a 100% closed course, and for safety reasons, we wish to get strollers off the course before the field thins out.
YES! We redesigned for 2021, which is mostly the same awesomely flat course runners are accustomed to, only changed the last two miles and finish area!
The finish line is approximately 3 miles from the start. Shuttles will take runners, friends, and family to and from the finish line and the school during the race.
They get donated to charity. Our volunteers collect all item, they are washed after race weekend and taken to local thrift stores (Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc.). If you drop an item at any part of the course, consider it a goner.
This is an open course - we prefer you to NOT wear earphones.
We cannot police the use earphones, but please take into consideration that this is an OPEN COURSE. Runners who feel the need to sport earphones should use common sense, keep volume low, wear only one earphone, etc. so you can be in tune with your surroundings
No. We love our furry friends as much as the next person, however dogs who are not certified service dogs are not permitted in any of the races.

Assume 7:00 am for all races.
Approximately every two miles.
All aid stations will be stocked with Gatorade, gels, water and possibly fruit, candy bars & pretzels.
Approximately every 2 miles along the course, and there are restrooms located at Cotter School at the start and also at the finish at the Big Spring Park.
We welcome all walkers. We do ask that they position themselves behind the runners at the start and mind the 7-hour cut-off.
The weather for this time of the year is very unpredictable. Typically the start is in the low 30s and warms to the 50s.

Our races are chip timed, and it is required of our runners to return their shoe chips after completing their race.
Yes, we don't go cheesy on shirts! Enter by October 1st, to guarantee shirt size on race day!
Park within the school parking lots or look for the attendants to direct you.
Yes, only the marathon. The Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K are all USATF certified courses. (See Certification Numbers on Course Maps and Info Page.)

It is flat and runs along the scenic White River with bluffs on one side of the road. Very beautiful course and yes, it’s FLAT! We start at Cotter School and down the hill, run the out and back course and finish at Big Spring Park, all along side the river.
Yes. Drop bags can be picked up inside the school. You will write your name / bib # on the bag and carry it to the starting line and placed by the Drop Bag sign. We'll take them to the finish for you.
WRM is not responsible for lost or stolen items
Finisher medals for all participants! We go three-deep in overall awards for each race and then age divisions by every 5 years. Check out the full spread of divisions and awards on the Results Page.
No pacers. We've tried pacers, but with being a smaller race they are underutilized so we mad the decision to not have pacers for the foreseeable future.
Shuttle vans will take runners and spectators from the finish to the school throughout the entire race.
WRM is working in conjunction with Eco Sneakers to provide a place for you to bring your used shoes to be recycled. Bring us the old and busted to the gently used. Shoes will be distributed to those who need shoes as well as ground up and turned into track and playground surfaces.
All half and marathon finishers will receive a finisher's medal. Not to brag, but our medals are pretty sweet!
There are division awards for all races as well as men's and women's overall awards for each race.
Awards are given at the post race meal. Approximately 8:30 for 5K, 10:30 for the Half and 12:30 for the marathon. If you have won an award and did not pick it up, upon emailed request through the CONTACT FORM, your award can be mailed to you. We do NOT automatically send awards to those who did not pick them up.
Showers should be available at Cotter school post-race. Bring your own towel and soap.
We will be serving a pot-luck meal for all runners and their families at 10 a.m. at the Cotter School.
Results will be pushed to Run SingUp through race morning. They will not be live as we have spotty reception at the finish, but they will be updated sporadically through the morning.
